Employee engagement
- Make sure all employees are engaged with the process of cutting carbon emissions by publicising the performance of the company. This means reductions in energy use, reductions in the volume of material sent to landfill, increases in the volumes sent for recycling (but ensure this is not because you are purchasing more than you need to) and reductions in mileage travelled.
- Consider holding meetings remotely using internet technology. This is not appropriate for all meetings as it is important to meet in person from time to time but for regular meetings, this technology can be very useful and reduces travel time and cost. Links to providers of internet meeting systems can be found in the ‘Links‘ section of the website.
- Is it necessary for all your employees to attend the office every day? Consider remote or tele-working for appropriate levels of staff to reduce travel time and costs. You may find that employees are more productive when they work from home regularly.
