Climate Week Challenge

One of the events taking place during Climate Week (see previous news item) is the Climate Week Challenge. This is where groups from schools and businesses across the country are set the same task and are challenged to come up with solutions in 5 hours on Monday 21 March. The Challenge will be revealed to participants at 9am on the day and they will have to respond with their solutions by 2pm.

Climate Week 2011 will run from 21 to 27 March and will highlight many of the positive things being done in workplaces and communities across the country to combat climate change. You can find much more information on the Climate Week website but put the dates in your diary and watch out for linked events.

Close the Door

The campaign to encourage retailers to conserve energy by keeping their doors closed has gathered momentum with the publication of a report on behalf of Close the Door which concludes that a store in an exposed high street location could use up to twice the amount of energy in heating as it would use if the doors were kept closed.
